Barrows Guide TheBarrowsGuide-1-1

Welcome to the Barrows Guide, this will teach you how to obtain Barrows Items.

Step 1:
You will need a Spade to Dig on tops of the Hills. So you need to go to the Shopping Area
and trade Herquin and buy a Spade.

Step 2:
You will need strong armor to face the Barrow's Brothers, I recommend this armors below,
anything that has good stats basically will do though.

Melee:

Mage:

Range:

Barrows Guide Range

Those are the strongest pieces of armor you can wear in the game.

Step 3:
You have to understand your enemies to win. The Barrows Brothers are very tricky.

Ahrim the Blighted:
Ahrim the Blighted is the oldest of the Barrows brothers. He uses low level curse spells as well as his set effect "Blighted aura", which lowers the player's strength. He uses Fire Wave, so it is advised to use the Protect from Magic prayer and wear armour with high Magic defence like black dragonhide armour. He can hit a max of 20 using Fire Wave.

Players may attempt to kill Ahrim without Prayer, but it is only recommended if you have 70+ Ranged and 80+ Magic as well as black dragonhide armour. Also, like every one of the Barrows brothers, his armour is tinted red. Generally, Ahrim is considered the weakest because he wears robes, as opposed to his other brothers, therefore making it easier for players to land blows on him. He is weak against ranged attacks.

Dharok the Wretched:
Dharok the Wretched is the second oldest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, and the lower his health is, the harder he hits. Dharok attacks much more slowly than the other brothers (around the speed of a 2h sword), but he has the ability to hit up to 58 when he is at low health. He is considered by most players to be the most dangerous Barrows brother. It is strongly recommended that you watch your prayer extremely closely while fighting Dharok. If you are using magic, the spell magic dart works well.

Due to his potency many players choose to safe spot Dharok in the Tunnels of Barrows, using one of the many rocks as cover to mage behind however this can be dangerous if the player cant get the spot quickly as it can kill it. Others use ancient magicks spells, normally ice spells to kill him without risk. The normal practice is to go for Dharok first when your prayer is fully charged to make sure that the kill is safer.

If your prayer runs out it is HIGHLY recommended you leave the crypt as Dharok can EASILY 2-hit any player at full health while Dharok is at low health as part of it's special ability.

Guthan the Infested:
Guthan the Infested is the third oldest of the six Barrow brothers.

He attacks with melee, and his set effect allows him to heal himself at a 1:1 ratio, so if he deals 20 damage and the effect occurs, he would recover 20 hitpoints. His effect is visible; three ghostly entities surround Guthan's opponents and circle around them in an upwards motion.

Nearly all players "tank mage" Guthan. This means that they will mage while wearing their melee armour, such as rune, granite, etc. Even though wearing metal while maging reduces your mage bonus significantly, Guthan's magic defence is so low that you will be hitting almost as high as with Mystic or other robes. This strategy is used so he won't be able to hit you often, thus, reducing the chances of healing himself.

Magic dart is noted as effective versus Barrows, for it hits accurately even with melee armour on, and you usually get most of the runes back from the chest.

Guthan the Infested:
Karil the Tainted is the third-youngest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks using a repeating crossbow which uses special ammo called "Bolt Racks" which cannot be retrieved by a player using them. Although his crossbow is apparently set to the "accurate" style, Karil is still considered one of the more dangerous Barrows. He can hit up to 21 with incredible accuracy, and faster than the other brothers. His special isn't the most deadly as it only drains Agility which isn't too crippling, unless you are required to run long distances to a bank or are just about to enter the tunnels. He is weak against slash attacks.

Some players prefer to Melee Karil using the 4 DDS special attacks then switching to an Abyssal Whip or some other powerful Dragon weapon while using Protect from Range Prayer. Even though Karil's armour has a very high magical defence, players with low attack levels should still mage Karil, since Karil, being a ranger, has a low magic level. Lower Defence players (such as 1 Defence Pures) who don't use prayer against Karil have noticed he can hit multiple 20's at high speed and rate - which can be deadly if this occurs multiple times in a row and the player is not able to eat fast enough.

Torag the Corrupted:
Torag the Corrupted is the second-youngest of the Barrows brothers. Torag uses Melee attacks and these can be averted by using the Protect from Melee Prayer.

Torag possesses an effect known as Corruption. This depletes run energy but does not affect combat in any way. Most players who visit the Barrows are not perturbed by this effect and take no measures to combat it. However, if a player runs out of prayer and is wearing robes, Torag's attacks will still hit high upon the player.

Verac the Defiled:
Verac the Defiled is the youngest of the six Barrows brothers. He attacks with melee, and has the chance of nullifying the effect of a player's prayer and armour, enabling himself to hit very high. The Protect from Melee Prayer is advised to be kept on whilst fighting him; although he is capable of ignoring your prayer, it will often protect you from his hits, giving you a difference that may save your life. High defence levels and binding spells is the only reliable source of protection when Verac attacks. He is level 115 and is relatively vulnerable to magic attacks. Slayer dart and magic attacks are recommended for Barrows, since you usually get the runes back. He is one of the 4 melee brothers and he can hit up to 23.

Step 4:
You have to use your spade on the Hills, then click the Barrows Chest to awaken them, then kill them! Referr back to step 3
on what their abilities are. Be careful and bring potions and food.

Step 5:
Talk to Shamus and he will teleport you to the Barrows Tunnel you have to find the Barrows Chest then click it to recieve
a Broke Barrow Item. Once you have that go back to Barrows and talk to Harold. He will fix our Broken Barrow Item
for 80k for each item. Then your done! Congratulations on your Barrow Item.
